Bridge Marathon a Big Success
Forty-five happy
bridge players attended the Awards Party that concludes this
year’s AAUW Bridge Marathon. Winners were announced, prizes
were awarded, and everyone enjoyed a grand buffet of snacks
while playing bridge.
Many thanks to
all those who made the event go so smoothly and successfully.
Pam Duren headed up the refreshments and stayed through the
evening to make sure the coffee, sandwiches, cookies, and other
snacks were in plentiful supply. She was ably assisted by
Stefani McRae-Dickey, who also supplied sandwiches and also
recruited the donation of several prizes. Others who donated
food included Jan Rounds, Louise Livesay, Velna Werth, Marge
Bromley, Mary Lee Seward, Sandra Edinger, Janet Jarvis, Denise
Nervik, and Nelwyn Price. Prizes were donated by Mary Mills, Ann
Mills, Evelyn Stephens, Sue Borden, Martha Jenkins, Janice
Abele, and Patty Eberhardt. A special thanks goes to Kori
McDonald who donated two hours of consulting (Order out of
Chaos, and Feng Shui) as door prizes for two lucky winners.
Businesses who
donated prizes included Dutch Brothers Coffee, Coffee Culture,
The Hilton Garden Inn, The Gables, Iovino’s Restaurant, and the
HUT Airport Shuttle. Be sure to thank them when you are in
their establishments. When all the expenses are in, we think we
will clear over $2000 for our local scholarships. Thanks again
to everyone. |
