Text Box: On May 20, Shayna Rogers, an OSU student, received the AAUW Senior Woman Recognition award at a banquet at OSU. She is a senior in the University Honors College, has a 3.99 GPA, and is working on her honors thesis. She will be graduating in spring 2010 with an Environmental Science major and minors in Natural Resource & Environmental Law & Policy and U.S. History.

She is very involved in the campus community, and has spent the past several years working to improve the quality of the student experience at OSU. She got her first job at OSU working with the Student Text Box: Sustainability Initiative, and helped to get the Sustainability Center up and running. She went on to serve as the 2007-08 Director of Environmental Affairs and the 2008-09 Executive Director of Campaign Resources for the Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU). She also served as a student on the committee to conduct an audit and review of the twenty year-old Baccalaureate Core curriculum, specifically advocating for a general update and the inclusion of an Environmental Citizenship core class. She is excited to spend her fifth year at OSU working within the Division of Student Affairs and focusing on her honors thesis.
Text Box: Once she graduates, she plans to attend law school and become an environmental attorney. Eventually, she hopes to litigate for natural resource conservation, sustainable development, and environmental justice.
