Text Box: Edith retired from the OSU English Language Institute where she taught English as a second language to International students.  She’s lived in Omaha, Illinois, Minn., Tucson, London, N. Ireland.  She has a son, Karl Madden, a daughter, Barbara Madden McQuillen, a stepdaughter, Liz Madden Swenson, and two 6-year-old twin Text Box: granddaughters.  She enjoys playing the flute in New Horizons Band, taking classes at Linn-Benton  Community College in portraiture, playing tennis at Timberhill, volunteering in Corvallis schools, playing with granddaughters, and travel.  She found out about the Corvallis Branch of AAUW through newspaper announcements and Text Box: joined because she wants companionship of people with her interests and desire to serve the community.
