AAUW Fall Brunch

9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8

at the home of Marilyn Roland

4099 NW Live Oak Place, Corvallis

Speaker: Kristina Schmunk, AAUW-sponsored participant at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)

Committee: Marilyn Roland, Mary Lee Seward and Susan Smyth-Tucker.

Reservations: Please respond by Tuesday, October 4 to Marilyn Roland, 541-752-5257 or rolandm2@comcast.net.

You are invited to get together with old and new AAUW friends while enjoying brunch, hearing our dynamic speaker tell about her experiences in Washington, DC, and learning about the branch’s interest groups and plans for forthcoming meetings. Feel free to invite prospective members. Please bring either fruit or sweet rolls or bread to go with egg dishes provided by the committee. Coffee, tea and tableware will be provided.

Kristina is majoring in Environmental Engineering at OSU. Here is what she wrote about her goals on her NCCWSL application: “As an engineering student, I am aware of the barriers women face in pursuing engineering careers, and am committed to programs that break through these barriers. Attending the NCCWSL will allow me to improve the skills needed to become a better advocate for women in science and engineering.” Kristina will tell us about her experiences at NCCWSL and her plans for the future. You won’t want to miss her presentation!

Directions:  Starting from 29th Street and Walnut: Drive west on Walnut Boulevard to the second light signal at Witham and Glenridge. Get in the right lane and turn onto Glenridge. Bear right as you reach the ‘Y” in the road and continue on Glenridge. Take the third right hand turn which is Live Oak Drive. Drive up to the stop sign and go straight into the cul-de-sac. The first house on the left is Marilyn’s. It is a light blue one-story residence.
